Churchill Mk.VII Crocodile 1:48 (Tamiya) — an injection-molded plastic kit of the British flamethrower tank.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Churchill Mk.VII Crocodile flamethrower tank, in 1:48 scale from Tamiya. The model can be built either as the Mk.VII infantry tank or as the Crocodile flamethrower version with its trailer; the package holds the flamethrower parts, the trailer and the rear part of the hull. Weight in the hull gives the finished model a realistic heft.
The Churchill Mk.VII was a British infantry tank built from the end of 1943, with a 75 mm gun and strengthened armor. The Crocodile version was among the best-known special conversions: in place of the front machine gun it carried a flamethrower with a range of over 80 meters, and it towed the fuel and the propellant gas in an armored trailer. These machines proved themselves in breaking through fortifications after the Normandy landings.
First finish the running gear and the lower hull; assemble the link-and-length tracks in sections. Decide in advance whether you are building the Mk.VII or the Crocodile with its trailer. Glue the plastic with thin cement. Apply a primer and spray the British shade; bring the flamethrower hose and the trailer to life with metal and rust tones. Add mud and dust to the running gear with pigments and dark washes, so that the heavy tank reads realistically.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
