An injection-molded plastic kit of the British trainer biplane de Havilland D.H.82 Tiger Moth in 1:48 scale from Smer. It is an older tooling with raised surface detail and simple fittings in its two open cockpits. Check the actual contents of the box and the decals against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The de Havilland D.H.82 Tiger Moth was the basic trainer biplane on which whole generations of pilots learned to fly - especially in the ranks of the Royal Air Force (RAF) and the flying schools of the Commonwealth. It was powered by an inverted inline de Havilland Gipsy Major engine, its construction was mixed with fabric covering and it had fixed landing gear. It flew from the 1930s, in large numbers during the Second World War, and many machines still serve today as veterans.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and sand the joints. As a biplane, the Tiger Moth calls for rigging of the interplane struts - count on it for a faithful look. It pays to paint and pick out both open cockpits before closing the fuselage. Striking schemes are on offer (the yellow RAF training finish, silver or camouflage versions) - after the gloss varnish, add the decals and fine wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
