The DB-26B/C with Q-2 drones in 1:48 scale is a plastic kit of the control aircraft for unmanned training targets from the manufacturer ICM.
Responsibility details are not available.
The kit captures a twin-engine aircraft in the configuration for controlling unmanned Q-2 training targets, and along with it the targets themselves. The scale is 1:48. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The basis is the Douglas A-26 Invader, a twin-engine attack aircraft of the end of the Second World War, which was redesignated B-26 after 1948. Beware of confusion: this is not the Martin B-26 Marauder, it is a different type that carried the same designation only later. The letter D in the designation DB-26 refers to the conversion for controlling unmanned vehicles. Machines converted this way carried Q-2 training targets, which were released in flight and then served as a target in training air defense and the pilots of fighter aircraft. The target was a small jet unmanned vehicle, either single-use or for repeated use after recovery by parachute.
A twin-engine aircraft in 1:48 scale means long wings and sensitive dihedral angles — let the wing-to-fuselage joints dry in the horizontal position and keep checking the symmetry. Finish and paint the cockpit and the engine nacelles before closing them. The pylons with the targets are small and carry extra weight, so glue them on last and onto perfectly trued surfaces. Before the decals, run a gloss coat over the surface that your paint will take, and once it is dry unify everything with a semi-gloss or matte layer.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
