A resin accessory for 1:48 scale from the Wheelliant brand. It is not an airplane model, but a set of replacement wheels for the F-14A Tomcat carrier fighter. The tires are weighted — flattened at the bottom and slightly bulged — with a fine tread and a raised hub that injection-molded parts usually lack. The rugged main wheels of the Tomcat are very much in view on a model.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was a two-seat carrier fighter of the US Navy with a distinctive variable-geometry wing. The F-14A version is the original production form, famous among other things for its service on aircraft carriers and its role as a long-range interceptor. A heavy machine intended for carrier operations, it had massive landing gear and rugged tires, whose worn, weighted look adds to the credibility of a model.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Mask the hub and the tire separately, matte the rubber down and dust it gently with pigment for the look of carrier operations. Protect your airways while sanding.
This is an accessory to a model, not the model itself. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
