The Focke-Wulf differed from its Messerschmitt counterpart in the philosophy of its armament. While the slim fighter with the in-line engine carried only three weapons, the radial-engined Würger could afford to spread the firepower over three levels. Above the engine sat a pair of MG 17 machine guns of 7.92 millimeters caliber. In the wing root, that is inside the propeller disc, MG 151 cannons of 20 millimeters caliber were built in. And outside the propeller disc, roughly halfway along the span, another pair of older MG FF cannons waited.
That arrangement explains exactly why the package contains six metal parts and why they do not all have the same diameter. Each pair belongs elsewhere and differs in wall thickness as well as in bore. Anyone who mixes them up gets an aircraft that looks right at first glance, but an expert notices the difference in the leading edge at once.
The practical benefit is obvious. Eight weapon outlets in two wings and one cowling mean, on an injected model, eight blind stubs which either have to be laboriously drilled out or stay unfinished. A turned part already has the opening.
The remaining part of the package belongs to painting: film for both sides of the glazing, a sheet of masks for the national insignia, a decal sheet and a replacement Pitot tube of metal, which lasts considerably longer than a thin molding.
On this type the weapons were reached through hinged panels so that replenishing the ammunition in field conditions could be managed in a few minutes. On a model that shows in a dense network of parting lines in the upper surface of the wing; once the metal parts are fitted, it is worth emphasizing the lines with a dark filling shade, and the whole surface gains depth by it.
