Replacement engine exhaust nozzles in the open position for a model of the Grumman F-14A Tomcat in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of replacement exhaust nozzles for a model of the Grumman F-14A Tomcat in 1:48 scale, rendered in the open position. A nozzle is a place on a model that can be looked into, and the part from the kit tends to be thick-walled and without internal detail. The replacement part has a thinner edge and a worked interior, so a look into the nozzle does not end at a smooth wall.
The position of the nozzles is not arbitrary: it changes with the state of the engines and on a standing aircraft it looks different from in flight. So before building, compare photographs of the machine you are building and choose the configuration from them. This set represents the open position; the supplier has the configuration with closed nozzles as a separate item, so that can be obtained too.
The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary modeling cement does not apply to them. Cut excess material and the marks left by production off with a sharp blade a little off the part and sand the rest back; on the circular edge, sand evenly all round so that it stays regular. Wash in lukewarm water with detergent before painting and let it dry. Nozzles are painted differently from the rest of the aircraft: complement the metallic shades with dark and rusty tinting from photographs, because heat-stressed sheet darkens unevenly. Work the interior up before you glue the set to the fuselage.
The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The particular kit and the procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
