A photo-etched set of insignia for figures of German soldiers of the Second World War in 1:48 scale from Aber. Fine metal parts replace the indistinctly molded uniform markings on miniatures.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a photo-etched metal set in 1:48 scale from the Polish maker Aber. It holds miniature uniform markings and badges with which figures of soldiers from the Second World War period are completed. It is neither a figure nor a kit but a detail modeling accessory meant for finishing miniatures that are already built.
Uniform markings on plastic figures in 1:48 scale tend to be merely suggested, and after the base coat has been sprayed on they practically disappear. Etched metal holds a sharp outline even at such small sizes, so the detail stays legible once painted. The set serves to render uniforms faithfully for the period on a modeling scene, so it is a purely scale accessory.
Nip the parts from the fret with a sharp scalpel and carefully sand away any remains of the tabs. Degrease the surface before gluing and glue with the smallest amount of cyanoacrylate glue applied with a toothpick or a wire. The metal is smooth, so lay down a base coat for metals first, otherwise the paint will not hold. Work on parts that are barely visible with tweezers over a mat with a light background.
This is a detail accessory, neither a figure nor a kit. Glue, paints and figures are not included in the package.
