1:48 Junkers Ju-88C-6 TFace is a masking set from Eduard in the TFace form, that is with masks for the outside and the inside of the glazing. It is not a kit but an aid to painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for a model of the twin-engine Ju 88 in the C-6 version in 1:48 scale. The TFace designation means that the set deals with the glazing from both sides — alongside the outer masks it also contains masks shaped for the inner side. The box holds no model and no parts of one; it is an aid made of kabuki masking tape from the Czech company Eduard.
The Ju 88 was a German twin-engine all-metal aircraft of the Second World War period, built in many versions. The C version had a solid nose in place of the glazed one. Even so the pilot's area stayed extensive and divided into a large number of small panes, so on a model you can see well inside and onto the framing from both sides.
On the real aircraft the frames of the glazing are in the cockpit shade on the inside, not in the color of the upper surfaces. When only the outside is masked, bare clear plastic shows through when you look in and the illusion breaks down — with a cockpit as glazed as this it is glaring. The procedure has two stages: stick on the inner masks, spray the interior shade, let it dry, then stick on the outer masks and spray the outer camouflage. Degrease the glazing beforehand, lay the masks on dry and press them down carefully around the edges with a wooden stick.
The package contains masking material only — the model, paints and glue are not part of it. The masks are cut for a particular shape of glazing, so check that they match the kit you are building before buying.
