The New Ware 1:48 mask set for the propellers of the E-2C Hawkeye 2000 serves for spraying the color fields on the propeller blades of the model in 1:48 scale. Intended for the Kinetic kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A specialized set of self-adhesive cut masks intended for painting the propeller blades of the model of the carrier-based airborne early warning aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is not a set for the cockpit glazing and it is not a kit either — it is a narrowly aimed aid for one particular but highly visible detail of the model. The target kit is Kinetic.
On a model the propeller of a turboprop airplane tends to be the first thing an onlooker has at eye level. The color fields on the blades, usually the contrasting tips and the transitions at the root, are small, and they have to be absolutely the same on every blade. By hand it comes out badly: the blade is twisted, tape does not hold on it and every further blade comes out slightly different. A cut mask gives every blade an identical shape and edge.
First spray the blades with the base dark color and let it cure properly — a mask does not adhere to a soft layer. Place the mask on the blade, press it down across the twist of the surface with a toothpick and run a finger briefly along it from the edge, so that it seats on the leading edge as well. Spray the contrasting shade perpendicular from above, not at an angle; with an angled coat the paint gets under the edge of the mask. Take it off once the paint has dried and even out any overrun with a single-hair brush.
The package contains masking film only. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery.
