A masking set in the TFace version for the model of the Messerschmitt Bf 110D in 1:48 scale, with parts for both the outside and the inside of the glazing.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf 110 was a twin-engine heavy fighter with the crew seated in tandem under a long glazed canopy. It was powered by a pair of inverted Daimler-Benz DB 601 V12 engines. The D version was built as the long-range one, with larger fuel loads. For the builder that means a single nuisance: the canopy is long and intricate, so cutting the frames out of tape by hand takes more time than gluing the whole airframe together.
The TFace tag says that the set covers the glazing from both sides. Inside masking has a practical point: the frames are usually painted in the interior shade from within, and without a mask that side cannot be sprayed without soiling the clear area. At the same time it keeps the shade applied from the other side from showing through the thin clear part. On a canopy as long as the one the Bf 110 has, the difference is visible at first glance.
For the builder who wants the canopy frames sharp and of even width along their whole length and does not want to spend an evening over them with a scalpel. Try the parts dry before spraying.
A masking set is supplied. The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
