A set of thin metal parts from the Czech manufacturer Eduard intended, according to the name, for the interior of the model. Interior sets deal with what is visible through the glazing once the model is finished: instrument panels, side consoles, levers, seat belts and small equipment. The model and glue are not included in the package; this is an accessory for a plastic kit.
The Mil Mi-24 is a Soviet attack helicopter that combines offensive armament with the ability to carry troops in the rear cabin. The crew consists of a pilot and a weapons operator seated in separate cockpits in tandem, each under a canopy of his own. It is precisely those two separate stations that make the interior a far bigger subject on this machine than on an ordinary helicopter, because it is visible in two places at once.
The interior is done first, so go through the set before you start gluing the fuselage. Cut off the plastic features the photo-etch replaces and level the area. Separate the small parts with a scalpel on a hard surface and move them with a moistened wooden stick; tweezers shoot them away easily. They are bonded with super glue applied with a pin. If the set contains color-printed panels, do not paint them and only go lightly over them with a matte coat once they are in place. Degrease the other metal parts, spray them with primer and paint them along with the rest of the cockpit. At the end it pays to test dry whether the fuselage halves will still close after the interior walls have been thickened.
The set is an accessory for a kit. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery.
