This is not an aircraft kit, but an aftermarket detail set. A precisely cast resin Aeroproduct propeller with four blades and a finely worked spinner replaces the plastic propeller from the base kit and looks markedly truer. The set is made for models of the Bell P-39 Airacobra fighter in the Q version in 1:48 scale.
The Bell P-39 Airacobra was an American fighter with an unusual layout: the engine sat behind the pilot and drove the propeller through a long shaft, so the forward airframe was freed up for a heavy cannon firing through the propeller hub and for a nose landing gear. It was used in large numbers by the Soviet Air Force, where it was among the favored types. The Q version was the most numerous production variant.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Set the propeller blades at the right angle and give the surface a coat of primer before painting.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and serves to improve the base kit, which it does not include.
