This is a set of waterslide decals in 1:48 scale for the additional marking of a model of the Soviet Polikarpov I-153 Chaika biplane in German captured service. The set widens the marking options with period subjects on the given theme. It is not a kit and not a finished model, but additional decals, applied to a model that is already built and varnished.
The Polikarpov I-153 Chaika was a Soviet fighter biplane with an upper wing shaped like a gull's wing and with retractable landing gear. Some of these aircraft were captured during the war and taken over by the other side, which marked them with its own identification symbols. The set covers these captured machines factually and without judgment.
The decals go on best over a smooth gloss varnish, which keeps the area around the subject from dulling. Coat the area under the decal with gloss varnish, release the decal in lukewarm water and once it is in place use a decal softener so that it settles onto rivets and broken surfaces as well. Finally even the whole model out with matte varnish.
