Masking films for the glazing of the two-seat cockpit of the carrier reconnaissance Vigilante in 1:48 scale, with shapes for both sides of the glass. Prepared for the Trumpeter kit.

The North American A-5 came about as a carrier-based carrier of a nuclear bomb and for its day it was an exceptionally bold design: a speed of over twice the speed of sound, an all-moving vertical tail, a wing without ailerons controlled by spoilers and a load tunnel between the engines from which the bomb was pushed out to the rear. It was that tunnel which proved to be the weak point, and the bomber role ended before it could develop, because rockets launched from submarines took its task over.
The conversion into a reconnaissance machine gave the aircraft a long gondola with cameras and a side-looking radar under the fuselage. After a raid the crew flew over the target again to record the result, and that at a time when the defenses were already waiting for them, prepared. It was one of the most dangerous tasks of the whole war and the losses matched it. The machine stayed in service until the end of the 1970s.
A two-seat cockpit means twice the work: two sliding canopies, two windscreens and a bulkhead between them. Tape cut by hand almost always wanders somewhere on such an area and the straight line of the frame ripples. The film removes that problem, because the edge is machine-cut and the modeler only seats it. After spraying and peeling, clear glass is left under the mask with no dried drops of paint at the edge.
