A resin figure to be painted, not a model. This resin casting from the Czech brand Aerobonus (Aires) in 1:48 scale captures a fighter pilot of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) of the Second World War period. The figure is one of the posed variants the line offers, and it serves to bring an aircraft model or an aviation diorama to life.
Australian fighter pilots fought on a number of fronts during the Second World War, over Europe, in North Africa and in the Pacific, and they took their seats in machines such as the Spitfire, the Hurricane, the P-40 Kittyhawk and the home-built Boomerang. The figure captures a pilot in period flight gear with overalls, a helmet and a life vest, as suits a fighter of that period.
Wash the remains of the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply primer before painting; an airbrush will handle the overalls and the vest, a brush the face and the small items of gear. A wash and oil shading will give the figure its plasticity.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin casting. Glue, paints and a model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
