The Russian UZR-73 training missile in 1:48 scale — a resin replica of the training version of the R-73 missile, an interesting and less usual accessory for models of Russian fighters from Plus Model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech manufacturer Plus Model brings a resin replica of the UZR-73 in 1:48 scale, the training version of the famous R-73 air-to-air missile. It is not a model of an aircraft but an accessory of armament that gives a model of a fighter exactly the everyday, working look the machines had on training flights.
Training versions of missiles serve with units to train pilots and ground personnel; loading, handling and work with the weapons system are all practiced with them, without a live motor or a warhead on board. The UZR-73 follows the shape and dimensions of the combat R-73 (AA-11 Archer in the NATO reporting system), so it looks faithful on a pylon, but it differed from a live missile in its striking training markings. Training missiles were in fact to be seen on MiG-29 and Su-27 aircraft in everyday use far more often than live rounds.
Wash the resin parts free of the mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off and glue the joints with cyanoacrylate glue. Choose the finish and the stripes of the training markings according to period photographs of the particular unit; the contrasting markings of training munitions will make the model a striking and unhackneyed exhibit. A fine wash will bring the parting lines of the body out.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
