The Grumman S-2 Tracker was a twin-engine carrier-based aircraft with radial piston engines, intended to search for and destroy submarines. It carried radar, detection equipment and weapons in a bomb bay and under the wings and represented the backbone of carrier-based anti-submarine defense from the 1950s. The S-2E version was one of the later, more capable modifications. The aircraft served with a number of navies around the world including the South Korean one, where they flew from land bases long after their withdrawal in the United States.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and, on the large surfaces of the wings, pay attention to accurate fit. Paint and emphasize the extensive interior and the cockpit before you close the fuselage; the masks enclosed make clean painting of the glazing frames easier. After the clear coat and the decals, emphasize the panel lines with a wash and add appropriate wear matching long naval service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
