A detailed accessory from the Czech maker Plusmodel in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but access steps (a ladder) adapted to the F-105 Thunderchief fighter-bomber in the B and D versions. The set is typically made up of precise injection-molded plastic parts with instructions.
The Republic F-105 Thunderchief was an American supersonic fighter-bomber used above all during the Vietnam War for strike missions. The single-seat B version and the main production D were among the heaviest single-engine fighters of their day; access to the high-set cockpit was provided by exactly this kind of ground steps.
Glue the plastic parts with liquid cement for plastic and dry-fit the fine rungs and handles. Paint them in metal or service shades and add chipping and grease for a used look. Set the steps beside the cockpit so that they match the real boarding height.
