Eduard 1:48 Seafire F. XVII landing flaps — photo-etched set is a photo-etched detail set of lowered landing flaps for the model of the Seafire F. XVII carrier fighter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched brass set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard in 1:48 scale. It is not a model but a modeling accessory: parts for a faithful rendition of the landing flaps in the open, lowered position, including the inner structure that plastic will not show. Lowered flaps give the model a lively, dynamic look.
The Supermarine Seafire was the carrier version of the legendary Spitfire fighter, reworked for operating from aircraft carriers. The F. XVII version was among the late standards, with a Rolls-Royce Griffon engine, strengthened landing gear and changes for carrier service with the Royal Navy.
Separate the photo-etched brass parts carefully from the fret with a sharp knife, form the bends in a bending tool or with a ruler and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Clean the surfaces before gluing and roughen them lightly for better grip. The flaps go together more easily once the recess in the wing has been cleaned out; match the lowered position to the angle in real photographs.
This is a photo-etched detail set, not a model. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
