Eduard 1:48 Spitfire camouflage scheme A masks is a die-cut self-adhesive masking set in kabuki tape for spraying the camouflage pattern on the upper surfaces of a model of the British fighter. It is not a model but an accessory for clean painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech maker Eduard contains precisely die-cut self-adhesive masks in fine Japanese kabuki tape for a model of the Supermarine Spitfire fighter in 1:48 scale. It is neither a kit nor a finished model, but an accessory that makes spraying the two-color camouflage on the upper surfaces of the airframe easier and more accurate.
Unlike classic masks for the glazing, this set lays out the dividing lines of the type A camouflage pattern on the upper surfaces of the wings and the fuselage. The masks, once applied, give clean and repeatable transitions between the two shades without laboriously tracing the pattern freehand. The tape holds tightly, follows the surface well and leaves no adhesive when lifted off.
The Supermarine Spitfire was the iconic British fighter of the Second World War with an elliptical wing and a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. The Royal Air Force used standardized disruptive camouflage schemes for the upper surfaces; mirror-image variants of the pattern were designated type A and type B and differed in the left-to-right arrangement of the patches.
The set contains die-cut masking parts only. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
