A resin detail set from the manufacturer Eduard in 1:48 scale, the BRASSIN line. It is not a kit of an airplane but a complete resin pilot's compartment for a model of the Spitfire fighter aircraft in the Mk.V version. The set holds the tub of the cockpit, the seat, the instrument panel, the controls and a number of fine parts; it tends to be filled out with colored photo-etched belts and pre-printed instruments, so the interior comes across faithfully without the laborious painting of every dial.
The Supermarine Spitfire is a British single-seat fighter aircraft of the period of the Second World War, iconic above all thanks to its elliptical wing. The Mk.V version was among the most widespread and was put into action in large numbers in the middle phase of the war. The narrow cockpit with a well visible instrument panel and side panels is a rewarding place for detailing.
Wash the parts clean of the mold release agent, carefully separate the casting blocks and clean the surfaces up with protection of the breathing. Glue the resin as well as the colored photo-etch with super glue. Check the fit of the tub of the cockpit dry before closing the fuselage up; do not paint over the pre-printed instruments and belts, only bring them out with a gentle wash if needed.
This is an accessory for an interior, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
