Photo-etched fenders and exhaust covers for the Sturmtiger (38 cm RW61) in 1:48 scale from Aber. The second part of the range (Vol.2), which follows on from the basic set.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched metal set in 1:48 scale from the Polish maker Aber. The second part of the range for the German Sturmtiger heavy rocket assault vehicle concentrates on the fenders and the covers of the exhaust system. The metal fenders have the correct thickness and can be bent or partly removed to recall a worn vehicle in the field faithfully.
The Sturmtiger used the chassis of the Tiger I heavy tank and carried the 380 mm RW61 rocket launcher as its main armament. It was meant for destroying fortifications and built-up targets. Only a few dozen vehicles were built, and they were committed at the end of the Second World War.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard mat or with photo-etch scissors, and make the bends in a bending tool or along a steel ruler. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue and degrease the surfaces beforehand. Lay down a base coat suitable for metal before painting, otherwise the paint holds badly on the etched parts.
This is a detail set, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
