A masking set for the glazing of the two-seat Su-27UB in 1:48 scale in the TFace release, that is, for the outer as well as the inner side of the cockpit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive masks for the glazing of the Su-27UB aircraft in 1:48 scale. The Su-27UB is the two-seat release of the heavy Su-27 fighter with a lengthened cockpit for two seats in tandem, so the glazing is extensive and carries a lot of frames. The designation TFace means that the set contains elements for the outer as well as the inner side of the glazing; a release without this designation is issued under a different code.
The elements are cut to the shape of the frames, so cutting strips out of tape is done away with. First wash and degrease the clear part; grease holds a mask only for a moment. Lift the mask off the backing with pointed tweezers, lay it down and press the edges with a toothpick, so that paint does not run under them. They are stuck on before spraying, not onto a dried coat. Spray several light layers; a dense layer will create a ridge at the edge of the mask that stays visible once it is removed. Take the mask off as soon as the paint has set; on a fully cured coat the edge tears. Leave the inner elements in place until the end of the build; they protect the glazing from fogging and dust.
It suits anyone who is building the Su-27UB and wants the cockpit frames straight and sharply bounded. The masks are cut for a particular kit, which the manufacturer gives in the instructions; before buying, therefore, check that they match yours.
The masks alone are supplied. The model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
