Responsibility details are not available.
A figure of a fighter pilot of the US Air Force of the Vietnam War period, rendered in 1:48 scale. It serves as an accessory for a finished aircraft model. Placed beside the machine it gives the viewer a sense of scale that the model alone can never offer, and the whole display cabinet comes across as livelier for it.
An aircraft model looks the same size in a photograph in any scale. Only a human figure beside it shows how high the cockpit sits, how long the wing is and how far down the landing gear reaches. A figure in 1:48 scale is almost four centimeters tall, so it fits even a cramped display cabinet and does not take up the space another model would need.
If you paint the figure yourself, first wash it in lukewarm soapy water and let it dry thoroughly so that the paint holds. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and gently sand the remainder. Cyanoacrylate glue holds small joints reliably. Apply the paint in thin coats, and work the face with a lighter shade on the raised areas and a darker one in the shadows. Seal the finished figure with matte varnish; a sheen looks unnatural on a figure.
For the modeler who is building an aircraft in 1:48 scale and wants to add a crew or a ground scene to it. Painting a small figure calls for a fine brush and a calm hand, but placing it beside the model is easy.
A figure is included in the delivery. The aircraft model, paints and glue are not in the package, unless stated otherwise.
