An Aviattic decal sheet with the five-color night version of the lozenge pattern for the upper surfaces, printed in the full width of a strip of covering fabric on a white backing (white decal paper). The opaque white backing guarantees the full saturation of the dark tones, and thanks to it the sheet also suits cutting rib tapes, which will keep the right shade.
The night version of the German preprinted fabric, the night lozenge, covered above all night bombers and long-range machines of the First World War; the dark polygons reduced visibility in searchlight beams. Printing in the full width of a strip matches the way the fabric was laid on a real aircraft: in widths of a given size, with visible joins. The modeler therefore decides the direction and the layout of the widths according to the documentation for a particular machine.
Cut strips from the sheet matching the width of a width of fabric and lay them one after another like a real covering, keeping the orientation of the pattern. The base has to be smooth and glossy; use softener to settle it. Put the leftover material to use as rib tapes: cut narrow strips and apply them over the lines of the ribs once the areas are dry. Close the final look with a matte clear coat.
This is a decal sheet, an accessory to a model. The aircraft kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
