The resin detail set Darne Lewis with full cooling fins (2 pieces) in 1:48 scale from GasPatch models — a pair of French First World War aircraft machine guns.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin detail set of a pair of French Darne Lewis aircraft machine guns with full cooling fins, in 1:48 scale from the Greek manufacturer GasPatch models. This is not an airplane kit but a set of sharply cast resin weapons with which you replace the simplified machine guns of plastic biplane models. The form with the full cooling jacket (full fins) captures the weapon with the complete barrel cooling radiator.
The Lewis was a British aircraft machine gun which in French service went through a series of modifications (Darne). In the version with full cooling fins the weapon kept the conspicuous cylindrical cooling jacket around the barrel, typical of the ground and the early aircraft forms. It was used above all as the observer's flexible defensive weapon, or on hinged mounts above the upper wing.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent, cut the casting gates off and bond them with super glue. Apply primer and paint with an airbrush; bring out the fine fins of the cooling jacket with a wash and a dry brush. Sand with respiratory protection.
The detail set does not hold an airplane model, glue or paints. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
