A plastic kit of the Russian Kirov-class heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser Petr Velikiy in 1:700 scale from Zvezda. The model is built as a waterline version, that is with the hull cut at the waterline, and suits a display base as well as a water-surface diorama.
Petr Velikiy is the fourth unit of the Kirov class (a heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser in the Russian classification). It is one of the largest surface warships in the world, driven by nuclear propulsion and armed with an extensive anti-ship and anti-aircraft missile system. The ship serves as the flagship of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy.
With ships in this scale we recommend building and painting the hull first and then adding the superstructure, the masts and the fine parts. Railings and fine details can be picked out with add-on photo-etched parts. A primer, a base coat sprayed with an airbrush, toning with a wash and fine edge highlighting with a dry brush all pay off. Place the model on a stand or on a surface imitating the water.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
