This injection-molded plastic kit depicts the Nimitz class nuclear aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74). The model can be finished as a waterline version or as a full-hull version on a stand. The box holds photo-etched parts and a set of shipboard aircraft, which make the finished model look faithful and well filled.
USS John C. Stennis is the seventh ship of the Nimitz class. She is one of the largest warships in the world, and her air wing is made up of fighter, reconnaissance and support aircraft. The model represents the appearance of the ship in active US Navy service.
It is practical to paint the large flight deck and the sides of the hull before the final assembly. Glue the fine photo-etched parts with super glue and the plastic with thin cement for plastic. The panel lines and the runoff streaks stand out after a dark wash is applied; the metal surfaces of the deck come to life with a light touch of a dry brush. The waterline version is easier to set into a water diorama.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
