A wooden deck 1:700 USS Tuscaloosa CA-37 is an accessory to a ship kit: a self-adhesive veneer with the laying of the planks printed on it, which will replace the plastic deck part. It fits the Trumpeter 05745 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The package holds an accessory to a ship model, not the model itself. A wooden veneer with a self-adhesive underside carries the printed laying of the deck planks and is glued straight onto the deck of a plastic kit. The result is a surface with a real wooden pattern, which cannot be replaced by painting plastic. In 1:700 scale the deck is very thin, so once it is glued on it neither raises the height of the part nor gets in the way of the superstructures.
The Trumpeter 05745 kit will serve as the base; it is bought separately.
The USS Tuscaloosa CA-37 was an American heavy cruiser of the New Orleans class. The ships of this class had an elongated forward and after deck area, so a wooden deck covers a substantial part of the visible surface of the model.
The way you take the backing film off is decisive. Never tear it off all at once, as the veneer then sticks down before you manage to align it and correcting the position is then practically impossible. Always expose only a small strip of the base at one end of the part, align the outline precisely and only then pull the film out from under the veneer gradually, pressing the area down as you go. Press with the flat side of a finger or with a smoother, not with the tip of a fingernail, so that no dents form on the surface. Push air bubbles out toward the nearest edge.
The accessory is supplied on its own. The ship kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
