This is a decal sheet in 1:72 scale intended for models of military equipment. The second part designation says that it follows on from an earlier sheet of the same series; the choice of markings is thereby widened without the same fields being repeated. Decals belong to the last step of a build and decide whether a finished model looks like a particular machine or merely like a painted shape.
First varnish the area under a decal with a gloss varnish. On a matte surface air is left under the film and a milky rim appears around the edges, which is then hard to put right. Cut the field out close to the outline, soak it for a few seconds in lukewarm water and let it stand until it can be slid off the paper. Lay the decal onto a slightly damp area, straighten it and press the water out from under it with a soft cloth. A softener will help the film bear down into the pressings and the joints. Once dry, varnish the area over, so that the edges disappear.
Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive version. A soaked self-adhesive film is irretrievably ruined, whereas a wet decal can be soaked at any time later. Store the sheet flat, in a dry place and out of direct light.
The sheet will be used by builders of equipment models in 1:72 scale who want markings more accurate than those from a kit, and by those adding a further part of the same series to a collection. The model, paints, varnishes and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
