The Soviet T-34 medium tank with a 76 mm gun was one of the most widespread fighting vehicles of the Second World War. The model 1943 designation refers to a later production form of the machine, which differs from the early batches in the shape of the turret and in a number of workshop details. Vehicles of these batches carried a varied range of tactical numbers, inscriptions and emblems, which makes them a rewarding subject both for building and for collectors of decals.
This is a sheet of decals in 1:72 scale, that is an accessory for a kit of the tank. The second part designation in the name means that it is a continuation of the series; the first part is published as a separate item. The exact list of motifs, their number and the recommended placement on the vehicle are given in the instructions enclosed with the sheet.
With ordinary sheets the wet method is used. First give the area under the decal a coat of gloss varnish, let the cut-out motif soak briefly in lukewarm water, move it onto the model and blot the surplus water away. A decal softener will help the decal to bed down onto rivets and pressings. Once it has dried, go over the area with matte varnish so that the edges of the film disappear. Before you soak the sheet, though, check in the instructions whether it is an adhesive type. An adhesive film that has been soaked is ruined beyond saving, whereas a waterslide decal that has not been soaked can be soaked later.
The sheet will be appreciated by modelers who want to give their tank in a small scale a particular identity instead of the markings supplied with the kit. In 1:72 scale the legibility of small emblems is crucial, so it pays to work with tweezers and good lighting.
Decals are an accessory for a kit, which you buy separately. Paints, varnishes, decal softener and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
