A set of four fourteen-inch Momo Vega rims in 1:24 scale. Intended for swapping the series wheels on models of Italian cars of the seventies and eighties. Tires are not included; the rims are shod from another source.

The Momo Vega is among the most characteristic alloy wheels of the seventies: a dense ring of thin spokes, a shallow dish and a narrow outer rim. In 1:24 it suits above all small coupes and sharp hatchbacks, which the wheels from a box rob of their expression.
Look every piece over against the light and remove the marks left by the supports. You can get between the spokes with a needle file, while wider surfaces are evened out by a sanding sponge of around eight hundred grit. Degreasing and a thin layer of filler primer follow: metallic shades will otherwise bring out even a small groove and the surface will lose the impression of polished alloy.
The inner hole almost always calls for widening to the pin of the particular kit. Work with a reamer in small steps and try it dry as you go, so that the wheel holds without play. Cyanoacrylate glue or a slow epoxy resin will secure the joint; solvent cement for plastic has nothing to join here. Before it cures, check that all four wheels touch the surface and that the outer edge does not rub against the lip of the fender.
In the package there are the rims alone, so you prepare the shoes separately. The easiest route leads through the rubber tires from the original kit; it is enough to check that their inner diameter and width correspond to fourteen inches in scale. Anyone building in detail will appreciate separate tires with the lettering marked on the side and a fine tread pattern, and may add valve stems from drawn rod. In color the most faithful combination tends to be a matte anthracite surface and a polished outer ring.
