A resin add-on set of wheels for building a model of the Airbus A320 airliner in 1:72 scale. It replaces the wheels from a plastic kit and deals with the typical weaknesses of production parts: a softly drawn tire profile, a parting line across the tread and a simplified hub. It is not a kit of the aircraft. The number of parts and the full contents of the package can be found on the packaging of the set.

The real subject

The Airbus A320 is the base member of the narrow-body family of the same name and one of the most widespread airliners of all. It made its mark among other things with fly-by-wire controls and a common crew cockpit across the family, thanks to which pilots can move between the individual versions with minimal retraining. The landing gear is of the nose-wheel type and retractable; the main legs carry a pair of wheels each, and with the aircraft standing the load on them is visible.

Usage tips

With airliners it pays most to watch the stance of the model. Before you glue the wheels on for good, stand the model on a glass or otherwise perfectly flat board and check that all the wheels touch at the same time and that the aircraft does not stand tilted. With larger models it helps to weight the nose so that the model does not sit back on its tail. If the tires are shaped with a settling at the contact patch, orient them with the flat part down and at the same angle on both sides. Degrease and prime before painting, cut the casting block off with a fine-toothed saw and glue with super glue.
