This accessory part from the Czech brand Brengun makes it possible to build the Night Attack version from an ordinary Harrier, a version recognizable at first glance by the modified shape of the nose with its infrared sensor fairing. The resin casting captures the characteristic shapes of this variant more faithfully than modifying the original parts could. It is not an aircraft model in its own right but a conversion accessory intended to be built into an AV-8B kit in 1:72 scale - we recommend checking compatibility with the Hasegawa kit before buying.
The AV-8B Harrier II is an American attack aircraft with vertical, or rather short, take-off and landing, which served above all with the US Marine Corps. The Night Attack variant, introduced from the late 1980s, was given a FLIR infrared sensor in a housing above the nose, a cockpit adapted for night vision goggles and other modifications, thanks to which the machine could attack at night and in poor visibility. Externally it is given away by exactly that different nose, without the laser sensor of the earlier versions.
Wash the part in warm soapy water, cut off the casting block and sand the joint with the fuselage gently - use respiratory protection while sanding resin. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and fill any gaps. Apply a primer coat before painting, on which any unevenness in the transition is easily revealed.
This is an accessory conversion part, not an aircraft model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue and paints are not included in the package.
