Series IV was the final and most widespread production form; compared with the early series it introduced an enclosed, glazed canopy. It is a short-run kit with plastic moldings, clear parts and a decal sheet with several national schemes. Take the exact contents and the list of markings from the actual box.
The Avia B.534 was a Czechoslovak fighter biplane of the 1930s and one of the best fighter biplanes of its time. It was powered by a license-built Hispano-Suiza V12 engine and its armament consisted of machine guns. The structure was of mixed construction, with fabric-covered surfaces, characteristic rigging and struts between the wings. The aircraft formed the backbone of the Czechoslovak fighter force at the time of the Munich crisis and later served with other air forces as well.
It is a short-run kit better suited to more experienced modelers — expect to clean up the moldings, sand off the molding blocks and dry-fit the parts before gluing. Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement. The rigging between the wings is the key point — seat the struts precisely and add the lines with fine line or thread, for example. Apply a primer before painting; the camouflage and the national markings go on well with an airbrush, and a fine wash will bring out the surface detail.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
