FLY 1:72 Avrocar Racer X Artillery models is a short-run plastic kit in a fictional version of the experimental Avrocar flying saucer.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale with additional resin parts, released in short-run production by FLY. This is a what-if version of the experimental Avrocar machine from the Racer X range. This package carries its own set of fictional markings, pitched toward a military look.
The Avro Canada VZ-9 Avrocar was a real experimental flying saucer of the late 1950s, developed as a vertical takeoff machine driven by a stream of air from a central rotor. It never reached the performance planned for it and the program ended. The Racer X range develops this shape in fictional scenarios.
This is a short-run mold, so expect to clean up the parts and prepare the mating surfaces more carefully. Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The military finish comes out well with an airbrush, a matte varnish and light weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
