Decals with the markings of the fighter wing JG 5 in 1:72 scale from AML. Machines from the fighting over the far north, in conditions that have no parallel in aviation history.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer AML devoted to the fighter wing JG 5, which operated over northern Scandinavia and the adjacent Arctic region. These are markings you will not find in ordinary kits, and at the same time a subject with a steady following among modelers.
Jagdgeschwader 5 operated in the northernmost part of the European theater, in the conditions of the polar day and the polar night, over the sea and over country where a forced landing meant a fight for bare survival. Hence the characteristic look of its machines: quickly applied winter finishes, prominent tactical numbers and unit emblems. The crews flew Messerschmitt Bf 109s and Bf 110s, and the exact mix of types changed during the war.
Never do the winter finish as a solid white surface. Apply it thinned over the base camouflage and let the camouflage show through in places, because that is how it looked in reality. Stick the decals onto a gloss base with a decal softener and only then work on wear and chipping. Finally even the surface out with a matte clear coat and make the fine streaks run backward, following the airflow.
This is a decal sheet and does not contain the model itself. Paints, glue and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
