Eight marking variants for the Dornier Do 17Z in 1:72. Machines of three bomber formations from September 1939 through Belgium and Greece all the way to the Eastern Front of 1941.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Dornier Do 17 got its nickname from the slender fuselage with which it appeared in the middle of the 1930s. The Z series was the last and the most widespread: it was given a taller, fully glazed nose with stations for a whole four-man crew and radial engines instead of the original inline ones. Neither range nor load were in any way exceptional, but the machine stood damage well and could be flown very low over the ground.
This sheet is among the richest Techmod offers for the type. Eight variants cover three bomber formations and a Croatian Staffel operating within one of them. In time it reaches from September 1939 in East Prussia through Belgium of 1940 and Greece in May 1941 to the Eastern Front at the close of the same year. Two subjects come from the same French airfield in the summer of 1940 and differ in a single letter, so they can be built as a pair. Anyone collecting the machines of one bomber unit will manage with a single set for a whole group of models.
The markings of German bombers are made up of four characters divided by the cross, and their order is not arbitrary: the first pair belongs to the formation, the second to the particular aircraft and the Staffel. During the build, therefore, do not put the characters together by your own guess but exactly according to the drawing enclosed. The colored character of the individual aircraft is also edged with a thin line, which can easily be cut off by mistake when trimming the film.
