A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks in 1:72 scale for the Douglas A-4F Skyhawk carrier attack aircraft. It covers the canopy glazing before spraying and saves cutting tape by hand.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk was a light carrier attack aircraft with a small delta-plan wing that did not have to fold for a carrier hangar. The A-4F version is one of the late single-seat machines and carries the characteristic hump with avionics behind the cockpit. Skyhawks served with the US Navy and Marine Corps, and a number of them enjoyed a long career with training and aggressor units.
The set brings pre-cut self-adhesive masks in 1:72 scale for covering the glazed areas and other places that are to be left unpainted. The individual pieces follow the shape of the canopy frames, so the tedium of cutting tape on the model itself falls away and the spray edges come out sharp.
Stick the masks onto a clean, degreased surface before spraying. Press the edges down carefully with the blunt tip of a toothpick so that paint cannot get under them. Spray in thin coats and take the mask off as soon as the paint has become tacky; it peels less easily off a heavy, fully cured layer. Wipe any adhesive residue away with a cotton swab moistened in alcohol.
It will be appreciated by anyone who wants glazing sharply bounded without laborious masking by hand. The masks are cut for a particular kit in 1:72 scale, so compare the shape of the pieces with the glazing of your own model before spraying. The package contains masks only; the kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
