Replacement engine exhaust nozzles in the open position for a model of the F-14A Tomcat in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is an American two-seat, twin-engine carrier-borne fighter with a variable-sweep wing. The F-14A version is the most numerous and the longest serving. It is the rear end with its two engine nacelles and the wide area between them that gives the Tomcat its unmistakable silhouette, and on a model it is the place everybody looks at.
Replacement engine exhaust nozzles for an F-14A model in 1:72 scale, made in the open position. Open nozzles let you see inside, so the rear end of the model does not finish in a blind surface. Which kit the set replaces parts on and how to fit the parts is given in the manufacturer's instructions; check the position of the nozzles on a particular aircraft against photographs, because it differs depending on whether the aircraft is standing with its engines shut down or is ready for take-off.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest down carefully, so that the mating surface stays flat and the nozzles meet the nacelle without a step. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold. Paint the nozzles before you seat them, as the inside will be out of reach afterwards. Choose the metallic shades and heat discoloration from photographs, as restrained grading looks better than a bright rainbow.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
