An injection-molded plastic kit of the modern fifth-generation F-35A Lightning II fighter in 1:72 scale from Hasegawa. It is a limited edition focused on the first machine delivered to the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, and the package carries the matching decal markings for it. A limited edition usually adds specific decals, while the rest of the plastic comes from the standard tooling.
The F-35A Lightning II is a single-seat fifth-generation multirole fighter with the emphasis on reduced radar observability, modern sensors and data integration. The F-35A version is intended for conventional takeoff and landing from hard runways and it forms the backbone of the modernization of a number of air forces, the Japanese among them.
Glue the parts with a thin cement for plastic and sand the joints thoroughly for the sake of the smooth profile of the airframe. An airbrush and fine shades of gray with discreet emphasis on the panels suit the low-observable finish. Finish the cockpit and the nose landing gear before closing the fuselage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
