This injection-molded plastic kit from the Polish manufacturer Mistercraft represents the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-8 fighter in the fit of the so-called Rammjäger, a machine intended for attacks on Allied bombers. The Polish manufacturer supplies it as a repackaged kit from an older mold with decals for several marking options. The kit will be appreciated by builders who do not mind a little cleaning up of the parts.
The Fw 190 A-8 was one of the most widespread versions of this fighter. Units called Rammjäger or Sturmgruppe were committed against the dense formations of Allied bombers, often with reinforced armor and heavier armament. The machine was powered by the BMW 801 radial engine.
Clean the parts up and glue them with thin cement for plastic; with an older mold expect to remove flash and possibly to fill seams. Lay down a primer, paint with an airbrush and apply a gloss varnish before the decals. Late-war German fighters offer varied camouflage schemes and markings.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
