A decal sheet in 1:72 scale for the German 88 mm anti-aircraft gun, the Flak 18 and Flak 36 types, on the theme of service on the Eastern Front.
Responsibility details are not available.
The eighty-eight-millimeter Flak 18 gun and its improved form, the Flak 36, are among the best-known weapons of the Second World War. It came about as an anti-aircraft gun: in its firing position it stood on a cruciform mount from which two wheel bogies were drawn away before firing, and the crew numbered several men. What made it famous, though, was fire on ground targets, where its flat trajectory and its penetrating power could hit armor at a range most guns of the day could not reach. The later Flak 36 differed from the original form mainly in its sectional barrel, in which only the worn section could be replaced, and in a simplified mount. On the Eastern Front these guns served in both roles at once.
Decals in 1:72 scale for building a model of this gun. The theme of the sheet is service on the Eastern Front; how many marking variants the sheet carries and which positions they belong to is described in the instructions supplied with the sheet.
These are classic wet decals. Cut each subject out as close as you can, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it stand until the film releases from the paper. The surface has to be smooth and coated with gloss varnish, otherwise a matte edge will stay around the decal. A decal softener settles the film onto curved surfaces and into engraved grooves; once it has dried, go over the whole thing with varnish to suit the look you want.
For modelers of artillery in 1:72 scale and for Eastern Front dioramas. The package holds a decal sheet; the gun model, the paints and the varnish do not belong to it, unless stated otherwise.
