WWII RN AA Weapon I is a set of small plastic parts in 1:700 scale from the Chinese manufacturer Flyhawk. It focuses on the anti-aircraft armament of British warships and serves as an accessory to models, not as a stand-alone model.
Responsibility details are not available.
It is not a model of a ship but a set of small injection-molded parts from the Chinese manufacturer Flyhawk, with which finished ship kits in 1:700 scale are refined. The subject is the anti-aircraft armament of Royal Navy vessels from the period of the Second World War, that is, light and medium automatic weapons on the decks and superstructures.
Anti-aircraft weapons are among the most demanding elements in 1:700 scale: they have thin barrels, openwork mountings and shields, which in a kit are usually simplified into a coarse block. The replacement parts are divided more finely and once painted look markedly more faithful on a model. The set also comes in useful when you are building a ship to a particular date and need to fill in or rework its armament according to period sources.
Work with tweezers, a sharp scalpel and in good light, as the parts are very small and easily spring away. Always cut them off the fret and never break them off. The most practical approach is to paint them beforehand on the fret, to touch them up once glued on and above all to accent them with a dark wash, which draws out the shape of the mounting. Use a minimum of glue, so that it does not flood the detail. Check the fit and the layout of the weapons on the particular ship against period photographs, because it often changed during the course of the war.
This is an accessory, not a stand-alone model. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue and paints are not included in the package.
