A resin figure to be painted, not a model. This resin casting from the Czech brand Aerobonus (Aires) in 1:72 scale shows a German Luftwaffe pilot of the Second World War, shaped for the late versions of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter. The tiny figure serves to enliven an aircraft model or a diorama and is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was the backbone of the German fighter arm in the Second World War and in its late versions (the G and K series) served right to the end of it. A pilot in the flying kit of the day, a flight suit, a helmet and a life vest, is therefore a natural complement to a model of one of these late variants and gives the scene both scale and a story.
In 1:72 scale the figure is tiny, so handle it carefully. Wash the parts to remove mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks gently and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply primer before painting; an airbrush will handle the flying suit, while a fine brush is for the face and the details. A light wash will bring out the folds of the kit.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin casting. Glue, paints and the aircraft model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
