A resin accessory in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer GasPatch models. It is not a model of an aircraft or a vehicle but a set of castings of the Hotchkiss M1914 machine gun intended to be fitted into another model. According to the name there are two pieces in the package. They come into their own anywhere the weapon is seen from close up and a coarse plastic part would let the build down.
The Hotchkiss M1914 was a French heavy air-cooled machine gun. It was characterized by cooling by means of rings on the barrel and by feeding the ammunition from rigid strips instead of a cloth belt. The weapon was used in both ground and aviation service in the First World War period and became one of the common armament features of its day.
Resin cannot be joined with ordinary modeling cement for plastic, which works by attacking the material. Use cyanoacrylate glue, that is super glue. Apply it in a minimal amount, ideally with a pin or a wire offcut, so that the excess is not squeezed out onto visible detail. A medium-viscosity glue gives a slightly longer time to line the part up than the thin version. If you want to extend the time further, only tack the joint at first and use an activator once you have checked the position. Dried excess can be carefully scraped off with a scalpel, but it is extra work that is better avoided.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted as resin castings. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
