This decal set from Colibri Decals brings the markings of Soviet IS-2 heavy tanks of the 50th Guards Independent Heavy Tank Regiment, which advanced along the route from Sedlice to Berlin in the closing phase of the war. The decals in 1:72 scale contain tactical numbers, Guards insignia and period lettering.
The IS-2 was a Soviet heavy tank of the Second World War armed with a powerful 122mm gun, intended to break through fortifications and to fight heavy targets. The Guards regiments used in the fighting for Berlin carried prominent tactical markings and slogans, which makes these machines a rewarding subject.
Apply the decals over a smooth gloss varnish. A decal softener and fixer will help the decals adhere to the broken-up cast armor of the turret. Once dry, overcoat with a matte varnish and add weathering, washes and dust effects for the faithful look of a combat vehicle.
