Masking set 1:72 IAI Kfir C2 and C7 Basic brings die-cut self-adhesive kabuki paper templates for masking the glazing of the small model of the Israeli tailless fighter-bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set from New Ware is intended for painting the model of the Kfir in 1:72 scale. It contains machine-cut self-adhesive masks from kabuki paper, which are stuck onto the clear part and leave uncovered only those places that are to receive paint. Basic is the leanest of the available levels and is aimed at the glazing.
In 1:72 scale a canopy frame comes out at a fraction of a millimeter. Cutting tape by hand to such a width is work with a magnifier, and the result tends to be uneven, because the knife wanders in a narrow strip. A die-cut mask keeps to the shape and the width of the drawing, so that even a small model has a canopy that stands up to close inspection. This is the most common reason why builders in 1:72 reach for masks, even though otherwise they build straight from the box.
Because of the size of the templates it pays to work on a light surface and with sharp tweezers, since a tiny piece disappears on a dark table. Lift the mask with the tip of a scalpel and move it by the edge, not by the face, otherwise it creases. Press it down with a stick; on small parts gentle pressure is enough. Spray in really thin coats, because in this scale even a slight build-up leaves a visible step at the edge. Before you fit the clear part to the fuselage, check that there is no glue overflow around it that could lift the mask.
This is an accessory for a model, not the model itself. The kit and the paints are not included in the package.
