The Kh-41 Moskit anti-ship guided missile in 1:72 scale from Armory. A resin replica of a large store for a finished kit, not a model of an aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin accessory represents the air-launched version of the Russian tactical anti-ship guided missile known under the designation Moskit in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit of an airplane but a large store for a model that has already been built. It is precisely with a body this large that a casting pays off: a smooth body with the leading edges of the air ducts would be cleaned up from split plastic only with difficulty.
The Moskit is a heavy anti-ship missile with a supersonic flight speed, designed to attack surface targets from low altitude. Its characteristic features are a cylindrical body with side air intakes and short lifting surfaces; the large body diameter is connected with its ramjet propulsion. Besides shipboard launchers, an air carrier was also envisaged, carrying the missile under the fuselage, so on a model it is a dominant item that markedly changes the silhouette of the aircraft from below.
Wash the casting in warm soapy water and let it dry thoroughly. Cut the casting block away with a fine-bladed saw, level the surface with a file and sand it wet with fine sanding paper. A large resin piece is heavy, so always reinforce the joint with the pylon with a wire pin set into a drilled hole; cyanoacrylate alone is not enough for such a mass. Before painting, spray a fine primer and check the surface against the light; bubbles are made good with filler and sanded again. Smooth surfaces come out best sprayed with an airbrush in thin coats; create crisp transitions between shades with masking tape.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. It is not a model of the aircraft; glue and paints are not included in the package.
