Canopy masks 1:72 Ki-43-I Hayabusa from the Czech manufacturer Dead Design Models are pre-cut self-adhesive stencils for the frames of the glazing and for the wheel discs.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut masking stencils in 1:72 scale for the Ki-43 fighter aircraft in its first production pattern. The masks are cut from fine kabuki-type masking tape, easily follow the rounded cockpit canopy and leave no adhesive on the glazing once taken off. Besides the cockpit frames, the set covers the wheel discs as well. It is an accessory to a kit, not the model itself.
The Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa was a single-seat army fighter aircraft with a radial engine and retractable landing gear, carried by the Allies under the code name Oscar. The design banked on low weight and agility, to which the so-called combat flaps also contributed. The Ki-43-I pattern was the first production version and differed from the later ones in the shape of the wing, of the cowling and in details of the glazing. That is precisely why it needs its own set of masks.
Degrease the clear parts and let them dry out completely. Lift the masks off the film with tweezers, lay them on the frame and press them down with a toothpick, mainly on the curves. First spray the interior paint, then a very thin sealing coat of the exterior paint and finally the full color in two or three light coats. Take the stencils off shortly after drying and at an acute angle. Mask the wheel discs only once the tire has been varnished, and the transition will then come out sharply.
It is an accessory to a model, not a kit. The model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
